PAW Featured as a Top Place to Bring Your Dog in Tampa Bay

We always knew we were a great place to bring your furry friend, but the Tampa Bay Times recently confirmed it in their article, “Top places to bring your dog in Tampa Bay.”

Many of Tampa Bay’s craft breweries are dog-friendly, indoors and out, but some are better than others in terms of space, shade and chill level. St. Petersburg’s Pinellas Ale Works, or PAW, is dog-themed, with beers such as Piddle pilsner and Milk Bone sweet stout. Their big, gated back patio is a great spot for dogs, though they’re allowed indoors in the air conditioning too. They host a yappy hour on the last Thursday of every month to benefit Friends of Strays.

1888 Russian Imperial Stout Review in the Tampa Bay Times

This week Justin Grant of the Tampa Bay Times reviewed our 1888 Russian Imperial Stout. Here’s what he had to say:

Russian imperial stouts are easy beers to make competently, but they’re tremendously difficult to make exceptionally. 1888 is a world-class example of the style done right: rich, viscous and roasty, with bold coffee and cocoa flavors all melding together into a shockingly smooth 11.5 percent alcohol by volume brew.

The Tampa Bay Times Cools Off with Harold’s

One of our flagship beers – Harold’s St. Pete Style Lager – was featured as one of the best lager style beers in the area by the Tampa Bay Times. Here’s what they had to say:

The name is a misnomer, as the beer is actually a Kölsch-style ale, fermented at low temperatures and lagered (stored at refrigeration temperature for an extended period of time).

Flavor-wise, it’s a mix between a Kölsch and a German pils — light-bodied and moderately hopped with a dry finish. Treatments of Harold’s are featured regularly at PAW, with flavoring additions such as peach, strawberry, cherry and lemon meringue (lemon and vanilla).

PAW Review on the Florida Beer Blog

Dave at the Florida Beer Blog did a great intro article on us just after our grand opening. Here’s what he had to say:

Pinellas Ale Works is a good, quality brewery with an impressive lineup of their own beers that i really wanted to try more of. And I should have, but i was on kind of a short timetable, unfortunately. But please, go and see how this brand new Pinellas County brewery is doing for yourself.

PAW Review on Burbon and Broadleaf

Bourbon and Broadleaf did a review on our brewery just before our Grand Opening on May 21st, 2016. Here’s what Maximus had to say about our brewery:

Overall, Pinellas Ale Works is a must visit brewery if you are in downtown St. Petersburg, FL. Even more so if you are a dog lover because every time I go in the taproom there are always a few dogs relaxing while their owners drink up…This is one of the few breweries where all of the beers are worth a shot. Get a sampler and try the lot at Pinellas Ale Works, you won’t be disappointed.
